Week 8 June 10

Week 8 June 10  Second Month

Oi!

So I have been out 2 months as of today! It doesn’t seem like I've been gone that long. Oh, and by the way I did not copy Baylee's title ha ha...we must just think alike :)

Summer finally hit Kennewick. It has gotten hot! Tracting when it’s hot is awful but we have to find new investigators somehow. For some reason this week no one would answer the door or the phone, it was so frustrating! But we made it through. We actually got a new investigator, which was pretty much a miracle for us. We had done service for this lady a few times and then a few days ago we taught her the first lesson and scheduled a church tour for tomorrow! I am so excited :)

We have been getting to know a lot of the members in our wards this week. The people in the wards we cover are amazing! We were teaching a family in our ward about the Doctrine of Christ and they pretty much ended up teaching us instead! It was great :) The husband has gone through so much- cancer, brain surgery, a stroke. But he has such a great attitude about life. It definitely made me realize that my life is easy compared to so many people! It was humbling, and I needed that after thinking that my mission is so hard.

This week I have been reading in 1st Nephi and I have come to the conclusion that Nephi was an awesome guy! The one thing that hit me the most was he Never complained and he Never gave up. I'm pretty sure I need to become more like Nephi :)

Well I hope everyone is having a great week! Keep me updated on all the amazing things you all are doing :) Keep on Smiling!

Week 7 June 3

Week 7 June 3

Oi!

Tudo Bem?! Well this week was a whole lot busier than last week! We had a lot of meetings, which was great! I learn so much when we get together with our district and zone. So as for the title...we had a district meeting and were talking about the Book of Mormon and testimony. It came up that when we bear our testimony and invite people to keep commitments we need to "be as bold as a bear." I have definitely been working on being more bold. It’s hard but I'm getting better at it :)

We had a crazy experience this week that really strengthened my testimony of Heavenly Father takes care of His missionaries. We have a man in one of our area books who is a Do Not Contact. He is an anti-Mormon protester and has a whole basement full of anti stuff. But he loves getting to talk to missionaries and even requests them on mormon.org. So after district meeting one of our zone leaders came up to us and warned us about that guy, he said the last sisters who met him ended up calling the zone leaders crying and he didn't want that to happen to us. Then we were tracting a few days later and an older woman answered the door and told us she's not interested but her son-in-law, Steve, loves talking about religion, and that he lives next door but wasn't home. Sister Funk recognized the name and we skipped the next house. Then the next guy we talked to wasn't interested either but then he warned us to not go next door either. So, wow. The way I see this is Heavenly Father definitely did not want us to talk to this man if he gave us 3 warnings. I am so thankful for those warnings and for the testimony I now have of being protected on my mission.

So it has been a good week! We do a lot of service which is great. A lot of people don't let us do service, we think it’s because we are sister missionaries...but we Love doing service! Serving others makes me so happy :) We also taught a lesson this week with a member present and it went so well! The member even bore her testimony about the experience on Sunday and it made us feel so good about how the lesson went and a lot better about our teaching.

I hope everyone is doing well! I challenge everyone this week to get out there and open your mouth and share the gospel! You will never regret talking to someone about the gospel :) If nothing else you are planting a seed in their mind and heart :) Have a great week and keep on smiling!
